About The Mix

This week on Mondayjazz broadcast - beats from Harlem. Not the borough of New York, but the real old Haarlem located in Netherlands about 20 kilos from Amsterdam and famous for the one of the biggest church organs in the world and station almost identic to Amsterdam's. Ambassador for this affair is producer and DJ H-Sik, who calls himself minimalisator.
And indeed, besides usual for beats mixes names and motives, Ellipse stands out with the specific aesthetic, with help of which H-Sik would probably find a common language with La Monte Young. In such context quite surprisingly sounds vocals appearing from nowhere and fading back into shadows. Wether it is rap, singing or just vocal samples - hipnotyzed by the minimalistic proccess you forget about existence of such element as voice and exactly at same moment of oblivion it shows up to remind about itself.
So a bit strict, quite mathematic, but at the same time humanly mix.
