About The Mix
Author of the Mondayjazz mix
No. 87 veteran DJ, often credited as an inventor of UK jazz dance scene - Paul Murphy.
List of his achievements as a DJ and music activist in general is not short indeed: back in the days he began his career in London clubs, in early 80's he started a trend of playing up tempo jazz tunes on the dance floor, which turned into a scene known as a UK jazz dance or Old school jazz dance, in 1985 the Wire magazine announced Paul Murphy DJ of the year, he was also a chef of the label Afro Art and the same named record shop (one of his workers was then young rising DJ Gilles Peterson), today he still spreads his musical vision through out the world...
Mix
Jazzing The Old Way is exactly what you can expect from Paul Murphy. Exploding with energy jazz tracks, influences of latin, funk, soul...
So a real Monday rave of jazz.
