About The Mix

With the help of laid back basslines, twisted rhythms and cinematic feel this week we are pleased by the mix from Marcin Cichy - a half of Skalpel - in recent times a bit quiet, but still actual, one of the most interesting groups of polish export during the last decade, that belongs to Ninja Tune label.
Compilation Afternoon Delights gives us a couple of valuable possibilities. First - it can be seen as a Skalpel's inspirational tape, that shows groups influences and source of samples. As known most of the sounds in their tracks are taken from 60‘s – 70‘s polish jazz. This is where the second possibility comes – to get a touch to the old polish jazz scene, which amongst older Lithuanian jazzmen from the times of Warsaw jazz festival (an Europe‘s oldest jazz festival, running from the 1958) has gained some what of a cult status.
So a short but concentrated ninja punch.
