About The Mix

Intellectual floatation in smoke

A unique event in the life of the Mondayjazz community, because a music project from Santa Monica, California called Smokering presented a piece made from their own tracks only. Maybe we can call it an unofficial presentation of their future album?
The artists themselves say that all the music genres influence their sound. While listening to a Floatation Device at first we meet soul touching trip hop, we hear jazz waiting at the door, dub bass is here as well.
But the genres of music are not the most important topic in this case. Floatation Device is a new experience at first; it is a feeling, sincerity floating down from the notes.
Acoustic instruments and electronic psychedelics, the changing moods from cozy chill -out to more dark moments. That is just a small part of the gift presented by the musicians.
It is an album, which will be playing in your heads for a while.
