About The Mix
August is a disco nap
You know, this week's mix - a wonderful peace made by
Hubert Daviz - reminded me of a thought I kept for myself some time ago. For this selection consists of extremely neat and neatly traditional hip hop, soul and bits of jazz makes me think about Busdriver, a rapper extraordinaire in his skills, lyrics and almost non-rap music-wise. In precise, makes me think about his lyrics and how would the World turn more rapidly if the rap lyrics would have been like his ever since the genre started. And i don't doubt that, say, Kylie would overtake Madonna by a hundred queen's points, leaving all those abilities to fold herself by half without getting tired behind, if the highly compassionate manager would order her to throw it like this:
"It's like a bed-and-breakfast I'm sending a text message on my key pad / Saying, "I hav no more to say to my ex-manager(slash)sea hag divorcee / Except eat shit and die"
or?
"Call your mother mommy or your mother mum if you cannot tell the difference between a plate of food and a cluster bomb / This is a healthy excercise in recreational paranoia"
And hey, line per second!
Try to think about it while listening to the mix, because i can smell the revolution's coming.
If it used to be "mayday mayday", now it's "monday monday + wheheheh"
