About The Mix
Nagging Nimbus
From indie almost-not-rock to electronic trembling, from clicks to continuous harmony, from solid rhythm to calm statics, from a mood of summer evening to some tunes of a futuristic Turkish sauna - that's the way the compilation sounds - surprising, yet interesting, the whole mood combines diverse styles by
A La Fu for you and Mondayjazz. To put it briefly - it's just beautiful.
And it's getting quite hard to believe that the producer and turntableist
A La Fu is a kid of Big Dada's, which is as big dada for big hip hop. Well, ok, there are some blinks of straight beats and rapid sample cuts at the end of the mix, but the whole mood seems to be far removed from any hip hop sound-alike.
It is not the only tag for
A La Fu, though - right now he's up to Radio Skool series, his own releases at VaVa records, while in a not so distant past he was chopping remixes for Saul Williams and Coldcut, sharing stages with Gil Scott Heron, Roots Manuva, Infinite Livez, Mike Ladd and, oh! this is not going to be the end.
The machine says yes!
Best music discoveries of the week happen to be monday-ish,
Enjoy.
