About The Mix
Unusual colours by simple people
Called Understandable Souls is a duo of simple self-taught musicians, poets and artists from Sweden. They have been making music, which they call electronic hip hop, since 2004.
On their
Myspace page we read not only about their love for hip hop, but also jazz, as well as soul, funk and electronic influences. This makes us feel pleasantly related.
The compilation that
Called Understandable Souls recorded for Mondayjazz listeners sounds unexpected. It's beginning is coloured with high vocals, chorals and accordion, even beats sound unusual - easy and minimalistic.
They play their own tracks together with the all-time best, such as Herbie Hancock or Astrud Gilberto and contemporary geniuses - Jagga Jazzist or Madlib.
In the compilation Colour soul, jazz and electronica influences sleep together with the beats of life.
It enchants us with simple genius.
