About The Mix
O.Boogie guides us through a psychedelic Amsterdam
Mondayjazz is coming back from holidays to proudly present a magnificent compiliation recorded in the summer of 2007 in Amsterdam.
The author is a well known Benelux DJ and producer - O.Boogie.
O.Boogie says he is influenced by beatmakers like Jay Dee, Madlib, Dj Premier, Spinna, Rednose Distrikt, Theo Parrish and Moodymann, but in a compilation recorded for Mondayjazz you can hear many more musical influences than that.
"Dedication to the Interplanetary Stewardess" develops on an intelligent nu broken jazz rhythm, breaks down to a calm melancholy with a soulful trumpet and raises up with old school hip hop, soon it is changed for electronic flat beatz and everything turns a bit cosmic.
Techyhouse and analog Kraftwerk electronics sounds unexpected enter at the end of the mix and it is hard to stay in reality with choral Russian Futurist composition Why you wanna do that thang?
You can feel a clear, but hard to describe spirit while going through
all this freestyle session.
"Dedication to the Interplanetary Stewardess" is a mix, you don't want
to be finished.
P.S. You can hear O.Boogie's live skills this Friday at Satta bar in
Vilnius.
